"Love it or list it?" Most homeowners love it!
A joint-report published by the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) shows that most homeowners "have a greater desire" to stay in their home after remodeling.
The 2019 Remodeling Impact Report included responses from more than 5,000 consumers, Realtors and remodeling experts. 65% experienced “increased enjoyment” of their home after a renovation and 77% felt “a major sense of accomplishment.”
Kitchen and closet renovations rated highest in satisfaction. 46% of homeowners renovated these areas to improve functionality and livability, followed by 24% wanted to replace older surfaces and finishes. The third most popular renovation was a whole-house repaint. New doors and windows ranked fourth and fifth.
